I started my journey with Jesus when I was 15 in the Mountains of Western North Carolina. This is where and when I received the gospel in the fall of 2016. Little did I know God had so much more in store for my life than what I thought was possible or I deserved.
The summer I turned 21 the Lord met me in my brokenness in Lusaka, Zambia. I had never left the United States before, but somehow found myself on a plane with a group of strangers to go to a place I knew nothing about. I was trying to live my life with God at a distance by my strength and my wisdom. In Lusaka, God showed me what it really meant to be his Son, the confidence to have access to and be in a living relationship with God because of the blood of the Lamb Jesus who took away my sin. He took himself out of the boxes I tried to put him in, and began to reveal himself to me, showing me the deep Well of His Love for me and the reality the Gospel brings a person into with God.
Following that trip, I finished my last year of University at Mars Hill University in WNC, and returned to Zambia again in 2024. Jesus showed me through that second summer the purpose of my life, which is to behold and be with Jesus, where everything else in life comes from that place. The Lord painted a picture for me one afternoon during worship. It was of a House, where the Dining room had been cleaned up, chairs and table put back into order with a vase in the center. He told me βI have cleaned up the brokenness and put you back into order and I will fill you with things that Glorify meβ
I just want to know Jesus, and he is calling me away from my home and into the unknown so that I can trust him. In his perfect timing, He put the FHI Discipleship Training School in my path, and I believe the Lord is bringing me to Charleston to simply learn to live my life even deeper with him and live to make an impact for the Kingdom with my life laid down.
